MEET THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
-
Director of Rehabilitation and Physical Therapist at Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists
I am from Lafayette, LA and currently reside in Broussard, LA
The Lega-C Foundation is important to me because it immortalizes Celie's life work of passionately shepherding young women to become persevering, resilient, loving and faith filled members of their communities.
As a member of the board, I hope to help establish a standard of excellence for nominees as I know Celie held high standards for the players she coached. It is my sincere prayer that through the nomination and scholarship award process, the values Celie held so dear will be championed. I hope that young volleyball players receiving a nomination will acknowledge in themselves that they too have the power to light the world around them just as Celie did.
I have been married to my husband Kyle Champagne for 10 years and we have a 7 year old son, Jacob.
I enjoy working out, running, reading, and helping others.

Mandy is originally from Slidell, LA and currently resides in Madisonville, LA. She is engaged to Celie’s brother, Kip LeBlanc.
Mandy graduated in nursing with Honors from William Carey University and has serves the medical community as a surgical RN. Throughout her adolescence, she was involved in many sports - including track, power lifting, and volleyball. She later became a volleyball coach while in college and has since played recreational volleyball teams.
“I look forward to collaborating as a team to help raise donations for LEGA-C. Volleyball has always held a special place in my heart. It would be an honor to carry on Celie’s legacy and award scholarships to those special seniors who truly define grit and grace, just as Celie did.” - Mandy

Trey is originally from Mandeville, LA and currently resides in Delcambre, LA. He is a Physical Therapist at Louisiana Orthopedic Specialists.
“Foundation is important to me in order to keep Celies name alive and continue on living out her legacy for the greater good and in hopes to help provide opportunities for young men and women. I’m the father of Tenley and Oakley which keeps me busy needless to say. We enjoy the outdoors, and being active. I hope to continue to build this foundation so that it can provide opportunities to deserving young women who are role models for our youth. Celie impressed me most in her ability to effectively reach our younger generation by being genuine, caring, and being kind and loving. I hope this foundation is a way to spread this love and to show others that forever.” - Trey

I have several jobs and titles, I help run 3 of my father’s business, two in the oilfield and one real estate rental company, Vanoil Completions, LLC, Allspec Global, LLC and Mayo Real Estate. For the two oil companies, I do accounting, human resources, and just about everything else that needs to be done. For Mayo Properties, I do the accounting and property manager.
I am originally from a small island in the Mediterranean, Malta, but moved to Lafayette with my parents in 1979.
This foundation is extremely important because I want Celie to continue to influence young girls. I want them to remember and live by Celie’s values, Celie’s generosity, Celie’s faith and Celie’s love!
Celie was my daughter’s high school volleyball coach on paper, but she was so much more! She was a coach, a friend and confidant and always compassionate and caring. She was an active listener and enthusiastic about helping these girls achieve their goals. She was their number one cheerleader, encouraging them all while providing them guidance and advice, but also held them accountable with everything in their lives, not just volleyball. She was always motivated, energized and truly loved “her girls” as she would call her team.
I am a mother to two beautiful young girls, Gabriella (Gabby) 16 and Shelby 11. They are my world, as Tenley and Oakley were to Celie!
I enjoy playing volleyball, pickleball and love growing a garden full of vegetables.

Dahrie is a resident of New Iberia, LA and was a Teacher, Coach, and later an Assistant Principal at Delcambre High School where Celie and Kip both attended school.
“Foundation is important to me because Celie's family has been a part of my life since I was a child. I have always considered them family. I was then Blessed to teach and coach so many members of the LeBlanc family, including Kip and Celie once I became a teacher at Delcambre High School. For Celie to become a volleyball coach warmed my heart because I knew the impact Celie made on our Athletic Program and I knew that the ladies who were given the opportunity to be coached by her would be Blessed in so many ways. I am thankful that I was a part of her athletic journey and got to witness her giving her all to every young student she worked with.
As a member of this foundation, it is awarding me the time and endless opportunities to reach out to young adults to remind them the values that Celie lived with her entire life. I am also being awarded the opportunity to continue spreading the word of Celie's generosity in every aspect of her life. Young adults around Acadiana will benefit from the scholarships given to continue their education. They will forever feel the impact of what Celie meant to so many people, young and old. Her legacy will continue to enhance other's lives.” - Dahrie

Kip is originally from Delcambre, LA and a currently resides in Madisonville, LA.
He graduated from LSU in 2006 with a BS in Kinesiology & Human Movement and continued on to Texas Heart Institute School where he graduated in Perfusion Technology.
“Celie is my only sibling and I feel that when she passed away, I lost a part of my soul. The idea of creating this foundation means more to me than I’ll ever be able to express. Selfishly, it allows me to hold on to her. But in reality, it allows me to make sure her memory and her name live on for my four children and her two.
My goal in this journey is to make this foundation something Celie and I’s parents can be proud of. As kids, our Mom and Dad taught us to be loving, generous and giving individuals. They taught us to see the good in people, to trust in God and try to put others first.
As a parent, I try to teach my kids the same life lessons I was lucky enough to learn. As an Uncle, it is also my responsibility to be a role model in the lives of Celie’s two girls. My desire to see this foundation prosper is driven by those six little lives that were devastated when my sister gained her wings.
I am hoping to teach them to be compassionate, caring and giving through this non-profit. As they get older, I would love nothing more than for the six of them to be fully involved in every step of this process. It will be a joyful moment in my life when I am able to sit back, give some advice and watch them carry on Celie’s legacy.”
